ANNUAL DAY

The 2025 Annual Day of St. John’s School was truly spectacular, unfolding as a professionally choreographed evening of brilliance and grandeur. The seamless coordination of lights and sound, combined with the flawless synchronisation of the dancers, elevated every performance and held the audience spellbound throughout the programme.

The choir rendered melodious and soulful compositions with remarkable harmony, adding depth and grace to the evening, while the yoga display, executed with precision and discipline, was well appreciated.

The celebrations commenced with a ceremony honouring the academic excellence of the 2024–25 ICSE (Grade 10) and ISC (Grade 12) toppers, and our sports stars who were felicitated with certificates and cash awards for their outstanding achievements.

The cultural programme was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mrs. Veenaranjini, a distinguished scientist and technocrat, formerly associated with ISRO and an ex-Operations Director at Cummins R&T India Ltd. In her inspiring address, she spoke about the transformative power of extracurricular activities such as music, art, dance, and yoga in shaping students’ values, confidence, and holistic development.

The programme opened with a captivating welcome dance, setting an energetic tone for the evening. The tiny tots won hearts with their delightful performances and charming costumes, while students from Grades 6 to 12 presented dances based on the theme “Expressions,” with each dance portraying a distinct emotion or idea. The performances were visually stunning, emotionally engaging, and executed with remarkable finesse, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

The Christmas celebration began with a prayerful invocation, setting a tone of gratitude. Following a warm welcome, the stage came alive with vibrant performances. Tiny tots from LKG charmed everyone with a "Jingle Bell Rock" choreography, while students from Grades 1-5 uplifted spirits with carols like "Go Tell It on the Mountain." The nativity story was beautifully portrayed through a musical by Grades 6-7.

The highlight was the meaningful Christmas message by chief guest Mrs. Mercy Arunodhayan, who explained the gospel through a colour code and led a joyful song. Dazzling choreography by senior students on a carol medley left the audience spellbound.

After a heartfelt vote of thanks, the event culminated in cheerful excitement with a surprise visit from Santa Claus, who distributed sweets and gifts. The programme, closed with a prayer, truly embodied the Christmas spirit of joy, celebration, and communal cheer.

At St. John’s School, the staff Christmas celebration was marked by joy and enthusiastic participation. The event featured lively dancing, melodious singing, and a special address by our Chief Guest, Reverend Arunodhayan Sam Solomon. He delivered an engaging and insightful talk on the origins of Christmas, highlighting how its history predates even the time of Jesus.

Following the address, teachers showcased their talents through energetic dance and musical performances. The highlight of the celebration was the vibrant Secret Santa gift exchange, which added an element of surprise and cheer. The event concluded with a delightful feast, bringing the celebration to a warm and memorable close.

CHILDREN'S DAY

At St. John’s, the spirit of Children’s Day came alive with immense joy and participation from the entire school. Our Vice Chairperson, Shalini Ma'am, enlightened the students about Jawaharlal Nehru and the history behind Children's Day in an inspiring speech. The celebrations began with a special assembly conducted by the staff who set a warm and cheerful tone for the day.

The highlight of the program was a delightful lineup of entertainment where the roles were charmingly reversed as teachers took the stage as performers. The audience were treated with energetic dances, melodious songs, and endless laughter. But the moment that truly stole the show was the teachers' fashion walk which received thunderous applause and created an instant fan frenzy. The students erupted with excitement as Melwin Sir, Shalini Ma’am, Suma Ma’am, Vimala Ma’am, and Hidayath Sir made their stylish appearance.

It was a day that beautifully reflected our school’s appreciation and love for children. May the innocence of childhood be with you always.

KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA

St. John's School was brilliantly adorned in the vibrant red and yellow of Karnataka to celebrate Rajyotsava, creating a festive atmosphere across the entire campus. The event commenced elegantly with a traditional Bharatanatyam welcome dance, setting a dignified tone for the proceedings.

The celebration was a rich tapestry of performances dedicated to Karnataka's heritage. Students delivered soulful songs highlighting the state's cultural depth, while a powerful skit dramatized the valiant struggle of Kitturu Rani Chennamma against British rule, offering an inspiring historical lesson. The standout performance was a spectacular dance that artistically captured the diverse landscapes and inherent beauty of Karnataka. Further enriching the program, students showcased the state's variety through its traditional attires, popular cuisine, and dynamic folk dances.

Adding a profound intellectual layer to the festivities, Management Facilitator and Counsellor, Ms. Suma Rao, delivered a wonderful speech. She eloquently highlighted the unique ease with which young children can learn languages, urging parents and students not to miss the opportunity. She passionately spoke about the treasure trove of Kannada literature—from ancient epics to modern poetry—that remains inaccessible without developing fluency in reading Kannada, framing it as a vital key to unlocking the state's true cultural wealth. The day served as a comprehensive and heartfelt tribute, beautifully uniting the school community in honor of Karnataka's rich legacy.

Also, our Pre-Primary and Primary students celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with a special assembly, where they explored Karnataka's rich heritage through engaging songs and dances.

SCICRA
Science, Commerce, Art and Craft Exhibition

St. John’s School successfully hosted its multidisciplinary exhibition, SCICRA, graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Mr. Harish Kumar G. S., Executive Director of Checkpoint Software Technologies Limited. A key highlight of the inauguration was the release of the book, "...and the dots connect," by our Management Facilitator & Counsellor, Ms. Suma N Rao. The book, which poignantly charts her personal life experiences, was officially released on October 11th, adding a significant literary milestone to the event's festivities.

The event proved to be a resounding success, celebrating the collective talents of the entire student body, from our youngest learners in Nursery to the aspiring graduates of Grade 12.

The campus was alive with a palpable energy as visitors explored beautiful models, innovative working projects, and intricate art and crafts. Primary students confidently explained their models on science, social studies, math, and computer science while high school students presented advanced exhibits in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math, Commerce, History, Robotics, and Computer Science. Our Auditorium was bursting with artistic creations of our students and left everyone mesmerised.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, student-run entrepreneurship stalls sold handmade items like embroidered handkerchiefs, jewelry, paintings, cosmetics, bookmarks and a variety of home made food. Popular activity stalls for Henna, tattoos, and hand painting, along with lively food stalls and a joyous bouncy castle, created a vibrant community celebration. The beautifully decorated school, filled with knowledge and enthusiasm, made SCICRA an unforgettable event for all.

GRANDPARENTS DAY

St. John's joyfully hosted Grandparents' Day, bringing together generations in a heartwarming celebration. The day was filled with excitement as our tiny tots started the celebration with a dance and grandparents enthusiastically participated in various fun-filled games, creating unforgettable memories with their grandchildren. The event took an emotional turn when some grandparents shared touching stories and experiences with their grandkids, leaving many with moist eyes.

Our Chairman, Mr. Melwin Reddy, and Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Shalini Melwin Reddy gave away the prizes to the winners in the games. The grand finale was a delightful dance performance by the grandparents and their grandchildren, showcasing their special bond and filling the atmosphere with joy and love.

The celebration was a beautiful tribute to the invaluable role grandparents play in shaping their grandchildren's lives. It was a day filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments, strengthening the intergenerational bond between grandparents and their grandkids.

TEACHERS' DAY

St. John's celebrated Teachers' Day with immense enthusiasm and gratitude.

Our students showcased their appreciation for their teachers through captivating dance and song performances. The highlight of the event was the fun-filled games organized for teachers, which brought laughter and joy to everyone. The students' thoughtful gestures, including handmade roses and heartfelt greeting cards, touched the teachers' hearts, filling them with happiness.

The celebration took a special turn when our Chairman, Mr. Melwin Reddy, and Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Shalini Melwin Reddy, arranged a memorable program for the teachers. The afternoon was filled with dance, music, and inspirational speeches from our esteemed leaders. The teachers were deeply motivated by the words of encouragement and appreciation from Shalini ma'am and Melwin sir.

To add to the festivities, the teachers received their leave reimbursement for the previous year, along with a special Teachers' Day gift. The day concluded with a lavish lunch that everyone relished. It was a truly unforgettable celebration, honoring the dedication and hard work of our teachers.

PRIMARY WONDERS

St. John's School was abuzz with excitement on August 30th as our Primary Wonders event took center stage, showcasing the incredible talents of our Grade 1-5 students. The auditorium was transformed into a vibrant spectacle, with a beautifully decorated stage that set the tone for an unforgettable day. Our young performers dazzled the audience with their radiant costumes, mesmerizing dance performances, and captivating stage presence.

The Grade 3-5 students' dances were particularly noteworthy, as they skillfully wove important values into their choreography, leaving a lasting impact on the audience. The event was expertly hosted by our confident and dynamic student anchors, who effortlessly kept the energy levels high and the audience engaged.

The musical segment was equally impressive, with the students singing heartwarming songs about friendship and patriotism that resonated with the audience. Their melodious voices added a touching dimension to the event, further enhancing the overall experience.

As the curtains drew to a close, it was clear that the Primary Wonders event has been a resounding success, showcasing not only the students' talents but also their creativity, teamwork, and dedication. The event was a testament to the school's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel in various fields.

KINDERGARTEN FIESTA

St. John's Kindergarten Fiesta was a magnificent and vibrant celebration, executed with true excellence. The stage was transformed into a beautifully decorated spectacle, creating a perfect backdrop for the day's festivities.

Our youngest stars, the tiny tots, were brimming with excitement, adorned in dazzling costumes and eager to showcase their talents. The event commenced on a heartfelt note with a soulful prayer, setting a warm and uplifting tone for the afternoon.

The performances were a delightful journey of music and movement. The Nursery children captivated everyone with their adorable and graceful performances to the cheerful tunes of "Itni Si Hasi" and the energetic beats of "Better When I'm Dancing." The LKG students then brought a wave of passion and rhythm to the stage with their dynamic dances to "Senorita" and the infectious party anthem by the Vengaboys. Finally, the UKG kids took the audience on a nostalgic trip with their retro-themed performance, charming everyone with a dance down memory lane.

The entire fiesta was a burst of color and vibrant energy, a true visual feast. The event drew to a proud and respectful close with the solemn rendition of the National Anthem. The atmosphere was filled with immense joy and pride, as parents watched their children shine, their hearts swelling with happiness at the unforgettable performances.
